Cody Calcagno fires a shot from the point at Yankee Stadium
A handful of players earned awards this past week including Senior Defenseman Cody Calcagno (North Jersey Player of the Year), Alexei Masanko (Freshman of the Year) as well as taking home Team of the Year honors, as the Star Ledger/NJ.com released its end of season awards. 2014 Bergen County Champs
The Bergen Record named the Don Bosco Prep Ice Hockey Team as the 2014 Team of the Year. A special year for sure, winning a 3rd straight Bergen County Tournament, 2nd TK Cup and 1st ever Gordon Cup, along with getting the chance to play at Yankee Stadium highlighted the season. A special thanks to all the seniors and we look forward to the 2014/15 season.
Don Bosco defeats Delbarton 3-2 in Overtime on Griffin Welch’s overtime goal to win its first ever Gordon Cup Championship. The game featured exciting end to end play. Don Bosco, playing in its second Gordon Cup Championship game in three years prevailed after letting the Green Wave back in the game late in the 3rd. Check out the star ledger recap here.
The Don Bosco Prep hockey team had the thrill of a lifetime getting to step out onto the ice at Yankee Stadium to take on CBA. The game finished in a 1-1 tie, Darren Cooper and JJ Conrad of the Bergen Record provided excellent coverage for the event.
DBP Senior Jarred Liscio
Senior goaltender Jarred Liscio became Don Bosco Prep’s all time winningest goalie, defeating Suffern 2-1 in the annual TK Cup game to notch his 62nd victory. For more on Jarred, check out this Varsity Aces senior spotlight.
