West Point – Last season Bosco traveled to CBA to take on the Colts for a special Military Appreciation Night and spoiled the Colts’ evening, capturing a 3-1 win. This year, it was the Ironmen’s turn to host, taking the game to Tate Rink at the United States Military Academy at West Point. For Don Bosco, Military Appreciation Night always takes on a special meaning as the program not only honors the Military, but one of its fallen, Major Tom Kennedy. After a slow start to the opening period, Bosco opened the scoring as Sophomore Forward Tyler Sedlak buried a second period power play chance. Led by the line of Mickey Burns (1g), Tsubasa Konishi (1g, 2a) and Sedlak (1g, 1a), the Ironmen gave CBA all it could handle in the third and broke open the game, lighting the lamp four times in the final period for a 5-1 win and improving to 4-0. Alexei Masanko again provided the backstop, tossing aside 26 of 27 CBA shots. A special thank you to Army West Point Head Ice Hockey Coach Brian Riley and Lt. Colonel John Nawoichyk and their staff, for hosting the game. DBP returns to action December 13th vs defending state champion Delbarton.
